Start with the maximum rating
Every AQUAFORTH model has a maximum engine power on its CE plate. Never exceed it: it is a safety limit, and going over it also affects the warranty. Within that limit, choose by how many people you usually carry and what you do on the water.

Things to check
- A long shaft outboard is required on all AQUAFORTH models
- Engine weight adds to the towing weight, check your car and trailer
- You can also order the bare boat and fit an engine you already own
- Hydraulic steering makes larger engines much lighter to handle
Licence rules differ by country
Whether you need a boating licence depends on your country and on engine power or speed. As an orientation: in Germany a licence is needed above 15 PS, in France above 6 CV, in the Netherlands for boats that can go faster than 20 km/h, while the United Kingdom has no licence for private use. Rules change, so please check with your national authority before you choose.
